Santiago López joined Relias Law Group, Ltd in 2018 as a part-time real estate research analyst. He is currently in his senior year at the nearby University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where he is earning his bachelor’s degree in Economics with minors in Political Science and Philosophy. He is interested in attending law school after graduation where he plans to specialize in real-estate law.
Previously, Santiago had worked as a real estate legal assistant at MLS Law Group, LLC, which specializes in representation for residential property purchases. He was responsible for reporting to the attorney-at law in the firm on the firm’s current files, handing the transaction from the file opening to closing, and maintaining interface between attorneys, title insurance company representatives, brokers, loan officers, and individual buyers and sellers involved in the transaction.
Santiago has remained involved at UIC during his undergraduate years, having had a number of extracurricular positions and jobs on campus. He has worked at the UIC Student Employment Office and was Treasurer of the UIC Pre-Law Society during his sophomore year. Currently, he is an active member of the UIC chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-professional fraternity for undergraduate students interested in the law as a career path. He is part of the Brotherhood committee at Phi Alpha Delta, which is responsible for maintaining and promoting unity and fraternity among its members. He is also a member of the Student Activities Funding Committee at UIC, which is responsible for hearing budget requests from UIC student organizations and allocating the appropriate funds.
